- An ebullient, heartfelt work for strong high school players, the work is basically in ABA form with the middle section highlighting the English horn (an alto saxophone may be substituted for the EH). The work was commissioned by Mark Alan Hilt, music director of The Harvard Westlake School in Los Angeles, CA. Although the work has nothing to do with Messian's "Outbusts of Joy", I named the piece in honor of Mark's love and commitment to Messian's music. Bursting With Joy will have its world premiere on April 27, 2018.
